REF023 D-STAR Reflector

REF023 is Australia's second D-STAR (DPlus) reflector, located in a data centre in Adelaide, Australia. REF023 is intended to carry Australian based D-STAR reflector traffic, alongside REF003, and to act as a backup for REF003, in the event REF003 is offline. All D-STAR Gateways, DV Dongle users and Hotspots are welcome to link to REF023 A, B or C. Future devices based on D-STAR, that are accepted on the general DPlus network will also be welcome on REF023.
Policies
There are a few things to keep in mind when linking to REF023. For the most part, we keep an open policy. However, please take note of a couple of things.
Port Allocations
The following port allocations apply for REF023. They are:
REF023 A - VK HF D-STAR Network. Anything related to operating D-STAR on HF is welcome here - HF gateways, propagation testing, nets, liaison, etc.
REF023 B - General Use, all Gateways, Dongles and Hotspots welcome.
REF023 C - General Use, all Gateways, Dongles and Hotspots welcome.
REF023 D - Experimental and Data - Experimentation is welcome here. This is the recommended place for non voice D-STAR data activity (e.g. D-RATS). Non D-STAR devices (analogue gateways, etc) can only be connected with prior permission.
Current non D-STAR devices permitted on REF023 D are:
No non D-STAR devices currently have permission to use REF023 D.
Both data applications (e.g. D-RATS) and voice operation are welcome on all ports.
Nets
Nets are welcome on all ports. For everyone's benefit, please drop me an email (vk3jed@vkradio.com), with the time of your net and the port used, so I can list it here. This will minimise the risk of double booking, and allow others to find your net.
Current nets known to be operating on REF023 A:

Current nets known to be operating on REF023 B:
No nets are currently known to be using REF023 B.
Current nets known to be operating on REF023 C:
No nets are currently known to be using REF023 C.
Current nets known to be operating on REF023 D:
No nets are currently known to be using REF023 D.
Non D-STAR devices.
This applies to systems such as Dstar Hotpoint, rtpDir and other systems capable of bridging analogue or other non D-STAR sources to D-STAR. This also includes setups such as a D-STAR radio connected back to back with an FM radio, or a D-STAR radio linked to a non D-STAR data network (e.g. packet). These non D-STAR sources are not permitted on REF023 A, REF023 B or REF023 C at any time. This is to preserve the end to end integrity of D-STAR's integrated voice and data capability, as well as callsign based identification. This also protects Australian Gateway owners from accidental licence breaches caused by Foundation licensees being retransmitted on D-STAR frequencies.
Non D-STAR voice and/or data devices may be permitted on REF023 D, ONLY after requesting use of the system, and only after I am satisfied that reasonable measures have been taken to protect the D-STAR users from both performance issues and accidental licence breaches.
